There’s nothing like fresh winter air, snow on the ground and sweet family time. Today my mother took us out for breakfast, we purchased our very last trim boards for the renovation, and we ate Sunday dinner. Sunday dinner is a favorite. Home cooked comfort food. Tonight was roasted chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, fresh parmesan cheese green beans with a roll and tall glass of milk 😋 I’ve tried a new Apple pie recipe tonight. I took a few different ones and twerked them into my own. Baking is such a science, a delicious one but once you know how things work it’s simple! ( I wish stove top was that easy!) the oven keeps the time and heat controlled, you throw something together and wait for that beeper!
🍎You’ll want to peel, core, and slice around 8 of your favorite apples.
🍎Bring to a boil, 1/2 cup butter, 4 teaspoons flour, 1/4 cup water, around 1/2 cup or more granulated sugar, around 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon and a squirt of a fresh lemon.
🍎line one 9inch pie pan with fresh pastry, add apples, lattice on a top piece of pastry and slowly spill the sugar butter mix into each lattice whole and slowly on the pastry itself.
🍎bake at 475 for ten minutes and reduce heat to 350, bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
🍎top with cheddar, ice cream, or whipped cream
